The stock has a modification in the bayonet section (the “pot belly”) to fit the original Russian blade bayonet instead of a spike bayonet. This particular SKS has Russian parts and a modified Chinese stock. Year 17, two years down the road could easily have had an additional 8k guns made, so the 24k guns isnt out of the realm of possibility even though many other years. The triangle 26 Chinese arsenal marking identifies that this rifle was manufactured (assembled) at the only Russian supervised Chinese arsenal located at the Jianshe armory in China. There is a year 15 gun from this arsenal that is 151666X serial number: While I cant really make out the last number, its clear that this gun is after 16,660 in this series. This particular SKS has a Russian serial number on a Russian barreled receiver. The Russians helped China get their SKS production started by supplying parts and equipment.
